That time Meghan was caught off guard by queen Elizabeth

Meghan Markle was once caught off guard by the late Queen Elizabeth. According to a royal expert, the queen had to reprimand Meghan over an altercation leading up to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding. Oops…

The late Queen Elizabeth will have caught Meghan off guard during a discussion about some dishes. Meghan reportedly tasted a number of meals before the big day at Windsor Castle when she became “quite upset” by one of the vegan options.

Pre-wedding stress

In Katie Nicholl‘s book , The New Royals, a palace source said, “Meghan was at the palace tasting some dishes and told one of the caterers that she could taste egg. She got pretty upset and said the dish was meant to be vegan and macrobiotic, when suddenly the queen walked in and said, ‘Meghan, in this family we don’t talk to people like that.’” Oops.

But it seems it was stressful planning for the wedding. Indeed, Elizabeth also had to call Harry to account for his behavior. In Robert Lacey’ s book, the author revealed that there would have been a problem with Meghan’s tiara. “There were tailors and lackeys present, guarding and organizing the jewelry, so it was inevitable that his now famous statement found its way into the outside world – ‘What Meghan wants, Meghan gets!’” This the prince reportedly yelled at Elizabeth’s fashion designer, Angela Kelly.

Tiara panic

Elizabeth reportedly disagreed with that statement, saying, “Meghan doesn’t get everything she wants.” The queen continued, “She gets a tiara from me.” Harry, by the way, does deny his famous statement. The prince says that his grandmother, gave Meghan access to the Royal Collection. He wrote: “She even invited us to Buckingham Palace to try them on. ‘Come over,’ she said, I remember.” Meghan was even allowed to choose from five tiaras. She ended up choosing the Queen Mary’s Diamond Bandeau, which she wanted to try on at her hairdresser’s.

Harry denies the statement against Angela Kelly. But tension did arise between the Duke and Angela (despite whether or not the statement was said). Angela reportedly did not want to make an appointment to try on the tiara AND the prince had to sign a release form for the tiara.

Well, a little wedding stress comes with the territory, non?
